In the process of putting pencil to paper, I begin by drawing in sections/stages. Since I was a child I have always created drawings this way. I visually dissect facial features – I study them and then I put them back together like pieces in a puzzle. This method of creating helps me understand expressions and also helps me appreciate the lengthy process each portrait drawing takes.
Based in Nairobi, Born and raised in Huruma, I am a Creative and extremely passionate Visual Artist dwelling on Graphite, Charcoal and Colored Pencils.
For my Undergraduate, I pursued Graphic Design at Buruburu Institute of Fine Arts ( BIFA ). My art is Inspired by Animals, Human Culture, Environment and Nature. I have been doing art professionally for close to 10 years Now. I discovered that I could draw when i was in Class 7 since my Class Teacher used to call upon me to draw diagrams on charts and boards.
Later On, I joined Kaptumo Boys Highschool and was appointed as a Member of Wild life club so my job was to draw using Calligraphy techniques by writing on Trees. Finally, i joined Buruburu Institute of Fine Arts ( BIFA ) where i pursued Graphic Design and i also got able to perfect my drawing skills with Knowledge and help from my teachers and Colleague Artists.
Determination to Inspire and be a Beacon of Hope is the wakeup call to my enthusiasm when it comes to art all wrapped up in one word, 'Passion'.
